Hi All:

I apologize if I am asking about something obvious to all, but this one has me beat.

We have just begun to use HikaShop to manage registration payments for our annual Welsh language week. The first step in the process is that the potential student registers for the course (using another tool) and then is directed to HikaShop. At this stage, the student must pay a deposit towards the final cost of attending the course.

I have created a deposit product and that works correctly. I have HikaShop set in the configuration so that when the user clicks the "Add to Cart" button, the user is taken to the checkout page (as the deposit is the only product that the student can purchase at this time). However, this does not always seem to work correctly. If the user is logged into Joomla when he/she clicks the "Add to Cart: button, the user does go to the checkout page (as we want to happen). However, if the user is not logged into Joomla - we only create a Joomla account for a student after student has completed the course registration process and we receive the deposit - when he/she clicks the "Add to Cart" button, the user stays on the product page and does not proceed to the checkout.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to correct this?

As a workaround, I have reset the "Add to Cart" default action to "Stay and Display a popup notice". This seems to work fine.

By the by, is there a "magic value" that can be set into the "Notice popup display time" field that will cause the popup to remain on the screen until the user clicks one of the buttons on the popup?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi,

1. This can sometimes happen when the option "Use AJAX when possible for add to cart buttons" of the configuration is turned on. So I would recommend to turn it off i it's on, and then try again.

2. Simply put a really big number in the field like 999999.

Hi Nicolas:

Thanks so much for the help. Turning off the Ajax cart button option did indeed do the trick.
