Shipping prices not added to final checkout....

We have shipping and payment automatically selected and submitted, works great. The problem is that although the shipping cost is displayed, it is not added to the original item cost until the buyer refreshes the page or selects a different payment method (i.e. the page refreshes).
The only thing I have added to the vanilla checkout progress is to add in the "terms and conditions" to the end of the workflow. I have tried removing this from the workflow but the problem remains.

We have kludged our way out of trouble for now by making the buyer select payment and shipping but it is a kludge and we'd like to get the auto select working again.

I just tested it and after selecting my shipping method the shipping price was correctly add to the final price. If you want it to be directly added, a solution can be to set the "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" option of the page "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout" to YES.

You misunderstand. If I set the checkout to auto submit the payment and shipping then the shipping price is NOT added. The customer has to do a manual screen refresh or change the payment method to have shipping added.

I have attached two screen shots. The first, which uses the auto submit feature does not have the shipping added to final price and to get it to add the shipping into final price, the customer must refresh the screen.

The second screen shot is without auto submit so the customer has to choose between payment and shipping methods which does add the shipping into final price.

The way it was set when you tried it was how we are having to run the checkout so we don't get complaints of "hidden charges". i.e. at the moment, the shop is set to run without auto submitting payment and shipping methods.

Ok, I just tried that on my end and it's working fine, did you done some code customization through the files of your "checkout" view of your front-end template, through the page "Hikashop->Display->Views" ?
