minimum product and order requirements

in our store i would like to be able to impose a requirement that if products in a certain category are chosen a miniimum number of pieces must be ordered from products in that category. if, in the same order the customer also chooses a Product from another Product Category there is a minimum requirement of 4 for that product. We also have a Product Category that has no minimum requirement.

example:
Product Category Photo Frames minimum of 9 frames are required in an order
Product Category Moulding minimum of 4 is required in that particular product
Product Category Corner Samples no minimum requirement

Can Hikeshop impose those 3 distinct requirements in one order? i was able to sucessfully impose the 4 item limit on a product, but am not sure how to configure the 9 piece requirement that reaches across products.

There is no option to restrict the number of products from a category, the only way will probably be to use the "'" option of your product configuration page, or to :
- Set the weight of your product to 1kg
- To restrict your shipping method to that category and to order with a maximum weight of 9 kg.

Thanks Mohamed. I'm not sure what "use the "'" option of your product configuration page" means. Can you explain that a little more. Would be the <System, Configuration, Product> menu item, or would that be in the actual product itself? If in the product, would that be set at the top level of the product, or at the varient level?
