Hello,

I would like to have a new category called "Preorders", where the users can select the desired phone, quantity and must add the client name.

I'm thinking to skip the checkout step for this category and finish the order right after "add to cart". It is possible with Hika (the business version)?

Hello
Regarding "Preorders" the solution will probably be to :
- Set your products quantity option to 0
- Set the "Activate Waitlist feature" option to "For all products" through "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Features"

You'll find more information about the the waitlist feature through the documentation .

Note that the waitlist feature is only available in all commercial versions of Hikashop.

Hello,

Thank you for the idea, seems to be the right solution, except that the mandatory fields added for this item are not validated for empty fields. The "not empty" validation is triggered only for adding the products into a cart?

I didn't understood your question, can you give me more details through some screenshots for example ?

I've added 3 custom fields to the item, all set to be mandatory. But the fields are not validated when i press the button "Notify me when available". See attached image.

Thank you

The "notify me when available" button is only displayed when the product doesn't have any stock and will ask for the user email so that HikaShop can notify him that the product is now back in stock so that he can purchase it. At that point, the user will see the "add to cart" button on the product page instead of the "notify me when available" button and the required will be enforced for the fields.
So what you're describing is normal.
