-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.0
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5
-- PHP version -- : 5.3.6

A few simple questions on the payment methods

Concerning paypal:

currently it's still only available to enter a FIXED cost for a payment method. However paypal for example uses a %t based + cost (3.4% + 0.35 eur) so there comes a point where eg using a fixed amount of 5eur no longer covers the fee. Can this be changed to be compatible

Concerning google checkout:

1) google checkout has been stopped by google and replaced by google wallet. I was wondering if the checkout plugin could be updated to work with wallet instead (and as such name probably changed to google wallet)

2) www.google.com/wallet/faq.html#tab=faq-fees

Hi,

1. You must have missed the option. It's been more than a year that it is possible to enter both a fixed and a percentage cost to payment methods. Both fields are one below the other when you edit a payment method.

2. It sure would be possible. It would require to basically redo completely the plugin. We actually asked for a test account to Google half a year ago so that we could develop it and they never replied... It doesn't seem that they want users to use their payment gateway.

There is a 2nd field yes but that one states "percentage discount". Thats not what i want. I don't want a discount, i want to add a the percentage based COST

the string in question is "DISCOUNT_PERCENT_AMOUNT="
Dutch translated verion states "Percentage Korting" (or in english discount percentage)

it shouldn't be a discount, it's a cost so it's either

1) an incorrect translation based on the string stating discount when it's a cost
2) it is a cost & coded as such but the string is labelled incorrect.

In case of option 1: i'll have to take over translations again. I was absent from the dutch translation for a while and its not the 1st item my successor messed up / missed.

in case of option 2: i'd recommend changing the language string label to COST_PERCENTAGE_AMOUNT=

about 2) dno if it's any help but i did setup a wallet myself.

Hi,

The english translation of the key "DISCOUNT_PERCENT_AMOUNT" in the official english translation that we provide is "Percentage".
If that translation has been altered in the dutch version, then it should be changed in the dutch translation file to the corresponding translation of "Percentage".

We need a specific access to their developer area. I've just applied again... We'll see...

That's what i figured nic. I think that the person who took over translation saw the "DISCOUNT_" part in the string and thought it was an actual discount and not a cost. So it's a combo of both options i guess. I'll take over again and review the translation file. I would recommend though to change the string in a future version to COST_PERCENTAGE_AMOUNT= to avoid further confusion (not just in the nl language file) ;).

Can't imagine why it was labelled DISCOUNT_* in the first place :)

It's labelled with DISCOUNT_ because at first it was only used for discount "percentage". so instead of having to go over 40 files to change the translation key and also to avoid issues with people not having the correct version of the translation file for their version of HikaShop, we preferred to keep the key like that.

aha so that's the logic behind it. Just an idea then perhaps the DISCOUNT_ part if of it can be dropped completely then unless it would create too much work modifying exising code.

Anyways i'll review and update the translation and send it your way sometime this wk.
