-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.0

The HikaShop checkout function is doing multiple strange things on our site. Please follow our steps below to replicate the issues:

1/ Go to: www.nimveda.com
2/ Register an account and activate
3/ Log back in on the home page
4/ Click on "Products" in the top menu
5/ Scroll down to see the shopping cart icon and click to proceed to shop
6/ Select an item to add to your cart (any item it doesn't matter which)
7/ At pop up click "Proceed to Checkout". Your first item should be listed.
8/ Go back to the product list again and add another item. Your 2nd item will be listed fine.
9/ Repeat this once more so you have at least 3 items in your cart.
10/ Click back on the "Products" link from top menu again and click the shopping cart icon again. At either the "Product menu page" you will notice on the left you have been logged out of the shop just by going back to the shop category page. This is the first problem, the system logs you out unexpectedly. So now if you don't notice you have been logged out and add something to the cart again, you will see all previous items have gone and the cart is empty. Only after you use the form displayed do you now see only the newly selected item is listed and all other items have disappeared. This is the 2nd problem, all the order has disappeared.
11/ Use the "Continue Shopping Button" at the end of your checkout list and add another item. When you proceed to checkout again you will see only the newly added items continue to be added not the first ones you started with before the system logged you out unexpectedly.
12/ Log out yourself this time. Then go home and log back in.
13/ Go to the "Products" dropdown menu & select one of the products listed in that menu eg. "Clay Range". This will open directly to the shop page containing the clay products. See what has happened again on the left column... the system has logged you out again and if you add a clay product & proceed to checkout you have to log in again and click next. See what has happened again? The previous order is totally gone and again only the new item you have selected from the clay range is in your cart.

This is a major problem for us because as you can see our customers cannot produce an order with 3 or more items without the system logging them out and resetting time and again.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what is happening in the shop system and how to fix this as I am not a coder and have no idea what to do. This is suppose to be an easy install and use shopping cart but we are having nothing but major issues here.

Hi,

Could you try to download the latest version (2.3.1) from our website and see if the problem is solved ?
If not, we will try to reproduce the issue on our end.

Unfortunately the update did not solve the problem as explained in my original post.

Upon trying to order the 3rd item from going from the shopping cart to the top menu product item selection, the system logged me out again & upon logging back in all previous items in the cart disappeared and I had to start again, only to have the same error keep happening. :(

I have tested this on mac & pc using the following updated browsers:

  • Safari
  • Firefox
  • Firefox aurora
  • chrome
  • Opera

Hello,
That's maybe coming from a cache issue so can you disable the Joomla cache, and clear it ? You'll also have to disable it in the joomla config, and unpublish the cache plugin. Also can you clear your browser's cache and try it again ?
