Custom Date Future Date Problem

I am almost ready to put this site but having a couple of issues, one of which is ensuring that a delivery date is in the future.

I just went on your demo website and checked your back-end and you have set the field "Delivery Date" to be required and to must be set in the future. However I was able to enter a delivery date in the past on your site through the front-end without any problem. The check did not work.

Delivery Date is very important to our business as we are delivering fresh products which must be kept cool so we need to make sure that the customer has got the correct delivery date.

Although I have set my date field to be required and to NOT have a default date, it keeps defaulting to 1 January 1970. I have made it not-required, saved and reset, but still there. I have also created new field and still there. I have changed the formatting of the date and this has not made any difference. I can set the default date to today + waiting time but what concerns me is that I won't know if the client actually chose that date or whether the system set it as default.

Please can you help me? Thanks so much

I have got a bit of a work-around which was to add the date 01/01/1970 in the excepted dates section, which now gives an error, but it is a bit of a clunky workaround.

I think that the solution will probably be to use the "HikaShop: Date Picker Custom Field" plugin, and to change the type of your custom field to "datepicker"
