Hi,

I have three questions that I have been researching and cannot seem to find the answer.

1) I want to reorder products on the page based on their name but cannot seem to do so. I read in previous forum questions that the answer was to go through Products_Listing and change it that way, but when I did that NOTHING happened. I was able to change the order of the category listings this way but cannot change the product order. The menu item is published so that is not the issue. ANY IDEA WHY?

2) I have custom fields enabled in the checkout and they work fine, but right now there is a large list of questions that display and can be overwhelming to the customer. Is there a way to have fields appear only when somebody choosing yes to another field? (like a sub field)

(For example, "Do you want us to call you? Yes/No 'drop down list'" and once they hit "Yes" then another field appears and says "what is a convenient time?" instead of that question appearing the entire time.

3) I want to have a navigation bar (like the explorer bar in the backend) so the customer knows what category they are in and can look at the subcategories within it without hitting the back button. I read that this is done through modules and enabling them but just cannot seem to get it to work right. Can you please explain how to have a functioning navigation bar display?

Thank you so much in advance for you help!

Hi,

1. On your backend products listing, change the "all sub elements" filter to "direct sub elements" and you'll see the order column.

2. Yes. You can do that with the "Display limited to" option of your custom fields. You'll find it when you edit your fields via the menu Display>Custom fields.

3. The categories listing : 2 levels module that is preinstalled with HikaShop should indeed display something close to the explorer in the backend. You just need to enable it via the Joomla modules manager. It should already be configured by default to work like you need.

Thanks so much for your quick reply!
I got the fist two to work properly so thank you for your help on those, but I still am having trouble trying to the 'explorer-like' categories listing in the front-end. The customers do need navigate easily between categories in the front-end.

I enabled both categories on 1 level and 2 levels modules like you mentioned, but it still does not show anything on the front-end products page or categories page. Maybe the settings aren't correct?

Do you know why this is not displaying on the front end?
Can you please explain the general settings for these modules to work properly?

Also, I don't know if there is an issue with the menu items I have published, but just for your knowledge I have:

-hikashop-menu-for-categories-listing
-hikashop-menu-for-products-listing
-product-listing

enabled and nothing else is currently published.

If you can help me out with this so I can get this issue resolved I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks again

Hi again,

Since my last post I figured out how to enable it on the front end, but instead of having all categories and subcategories appear, I wanted it more like a drop down menu with an indicator on what category or level you are on.

Any way I can edit the modules css to change the look and add a hover and drop down? (I have attached a screen shot of how it looks now)

Hi,

To display it as a dropdown, you will have to edit the view "category / listing_list".
It will require a lot of changes in that view ;) HTML changes, CSS will not be enough.
