Billing Address with no User Login?

Is it possible to have a person not be logged on or be a user of my site and still have the billing address fields to fill out displayed on the checkout? Right now, when I remove the Login from the checkout workflow it no longer asks for billing address fields to be entered.

Wouldn't this make paypal pro not work?

THanks :(

I receive an error when trying to remove the Login from the checkout flow. It says that I canm't use the addres field unless i use the login. So i tried using just a guest login and it somehow worked except for one thing. It only allows the use of a guest email address once. It will not allow a returning guest to use the same email to login. P-I-T-A!

I'm having trouble with every step of this. I hope you get your problem solved.

Hi,

First, PayPal Pro can work without the user details, so it should not be a problem if you completely remove the login/address system. But I don't recommend that as you won't have any data on your customers attached to your orders.

Instead, you should keep the login/address views in your checkout workflow and set the "registration" option to "guest" on the same screen.
That way, the user will be able to checkout as a guest, without a user account and without being logged in and the system will still ask for his address.

Yes, but for some reason return customers cannot use their same email address. When I try to use the same guest email address it says" Email already being used".

Here's my workflow: LOGIN>CART>ADDRESS>SHIPPING>COUPON>PAYMENT

With LOGIN set to NO: I see the cart, but no NEXT or CONTINUE button. There is a Continue Shopping button that returns me to store.

With LOGIN set to YES, and Registration on One Page: Shows Login option only. I try to login and get the expected error of no user found, but it does not allow me to create an account.

With login set to YES, One Page, Guest selected: I try to login and get the expected error of no user found, but it does not allow me to create an account. And guest account will not allow a return user to login as a guest. You must create a new email address as a guest each time. Since the guest acct does not use a password. it is not saving them as registered customers. I tried using my guest email to login as a registered user, no go.

With Login set to YES, Switcher YES: defaults to guest option, but no NEXT button. Cannot create a new account from here.

With Login set to YES, Registration YES, Guest YES: It looks ok, but when registering I receive an error of "403-Access Forbidden.

All i want for now is anything that works.

No, returning guest checkout customers won't have the error. They can do several orders with the same email address.
It's only the users who have already a user account with the same email address. In that case, they have to login.
So I guess that you tried with an email address which already had a user account on your website.
Try with one which doesn't have a user account (like all your customers if you only have the guest checkout option activated, and you'll see that it works like you want.

Is there an option in the backend to remove the button 'convert cart in wishlist' or does it require a layout override?

thanks

If paying with just paypal and not paypal pro is there a way to remove the requirement for them to fill out an address? As it's not necessary since they will just be using their paypal account.

thanks

Hi,

1. You can turn off the option "Display the convert cart in wishlist button" of the configuration for that.

2. There is no option to ask the address or not based on the payment method selected.
