-- HikaShop version -- : newest 2.3.2_2014_08_16
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.3.
-- PHP version -- : 5.3 or 5.4
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : mozilla firefox, chrome, ie10/11, safari, opera

Hi,

The Quantity column, including the quantity amount box, the refresh button and the delete button aren't working as necessary. Delete button as reported in the forum is reducing quantity by 1. articles are often not being completly removed from the cart, and quantity updates aren't functioning. I've looked in joomla for a way to turn off the caching of the cart checkout page, but havn't been able to find how to disable the cache just for that module.
I updated to the latest version since there have been several recent changes to this specific piece of code.

Thanks for any help.

From "in between the lines" of your post it seems you are using the Joomla cache. That's a bad idea since, as you're indicating yourself, the Joomla cache isn't adjustable well enough to work with an e-commerce system such as HikaShop (or others, for that matter).

So, as advised in many other topics here, turn off the cache, disable it in the Joomla plugin manager, empty the cache one last time, and then things should work as expected and necessary.

If you insisted on caching your site, you should look for, use and carefully adjust, a more fine-grained 3rd-party cache extension.

No clue what exactly you mean.

If it's still about test.crossfitshorts.com, then the cart in the checkout works fine: quantities can be changed and updated, and even if the quantity is 2, deletion leads to the cart being emptied instantly and the user being redirected to a shop page.

If you see any problem still persisting after cache deactivation, please describe exactly what it is, eventually accompanied by a screenshot of relevant configuration settings.

Cheers!

Hi,

Same as lousyfool, I don't understand what is your quantity box problem.
You provided a private url but your store is currently offline, so even if we want to test (try to see the problem directly), we can't.

Hi,

I checked your website and the quantity modification on the checkout is working fine.
The administator account you provided however is not working.

I also noticed some user session issue on your website (on one page the system sees me as logged in, but not on the next one, or the cart disapears). This can happen with caching or if there is a problem with the user session system.

Hi, thanks for your help.

I cannot understand why the administrator account wouldn't work. I just tested it with hikashopteam & randompass (as password) and I got in without a problem.

Thanks for the feedback on the user session issues. Yes, we are trying to get a separate user-system on Hikashop to the one on Joomla. On Joomla we only want our own maintenance and content users. On Hikashop we only want the customers. We are indeed noticing trouble with the caching.

Thanks again,
Cheers,
Marjoline

Hi,

I just checked and it's indeed working now, I can log on the backend. But since I couldn't see any problem with the quantity modifications, there's not much I can say on that.

Hi,

Thanks for trying to help us so well. Indeed, you are right, on the extra site we made so that a chosen few could get access to help us out with our getting started problems. And suddenly we discovered that the development site shows the problem with the quantities, but the extra site to which we gave you the right does not!
In the development site, for instance, if we change the quantity from 1 to 2, it results in 3. There is no way we could order 2 guitars, Hikashop forces it into becoming 3.
But like you discovered, in the exact-copy site in which you checked, Hikashop behaves perfectly normally! This is really weird, and explains why we were seeing different things. We saw the problems, but you could not see them.
We will do another back-up and restore to the other site, and if the problem still persists, we'll get back on the case.
Thanks for everything so far,
Cheers,
Marjoline
