Hi,

You just have to change the ordering in the custom field listing.
Display > View > custom field.

We have the same problem, but a check of all of our custom fields shows that the postcode is correctly ordered AFTER the city and state in the backend. But the zip code is still showing up BEFORE the city name everywhere - frontend views, addresses, invoices emails, etc.

Any other ideas where we should look to change this?

Hello,
I just tested it on my end and it worked fine, are you sure that you correctly changed the ordering of your custom fields through the "Ordering" tab of the page "Hikashop->Display->Custom fields" ?

Looks like you want to edit the views "address_template" (under "address" for the frontend, and under "order" for the backend of the templates in use, respectively).

We will look at editing those to solve the immediate issue.

So supposedly the ordering should automatically address this issue, but it's not. We'll go look at the template, but attached are screenshots from our custom fields ordering, and both backend and frontend address views.

Everywhere the zips are showing in front of the city names, across the whole site. Seems like this should be corrected with a configuration fix, rather than have to go into several templates and modify them all.

Have been able to confirm the same exact problem on two different HikaShop sites, one running on 2.3.2 and one on 2.3.3.

There is no "right" or "wrong" as different countries have different standards. If you were happy with whatever the default, others would have to edit the address_template views. Go ahead, do it, and all will be good.
