Do not shop shipping for options

Hi,

Website is nearly finished. Just a couple of minor but irritating options left. One is that within the final checkout is that shipping information is displayed for all the options of the products in the cart, as well as their pictures. In my case all options are included within the main products shipping cost so this info is not needed. See checkout picture.

Some products have a lot of options and the checkout gets very messy with options listed as no shipping neccessary. As options may just be colour for example it is also confusing for the customer who thought they had purchased one item.

Is there an easy way to not show ever this information and what file/code would I need to change?

If you just need to add a "Color" selection through your product page, the best solution will be to directly use a "Color" characteristic instead of an option, so you'll only have to add one product to your cart.

The example I gave was useless. I already use color as a characteristic for some products!

The problem occurs when one product has many add ons that can be purchased and assembled and then shipped as one product. Options include different wheels, gate add ons as such. These are grouped together as one procuct in the cart ok and are shipped as one. Its just that the shipping info on all these options is not needed and is confusing to the customer. If a customer buys 3 products, each with 5 options, the shipping info for 15 products, each with no image is shown!

Similar to in your demo site with the pc. But the problem occurs because I calculate shipping per product, and the optional add ons, although weight 0 and not counted towards shipping, are still listed in the checkout as seperate items to be shipped.

Any help with modifying the view would be appreciated.

Re settings.

Group options with product - yes
Force shipping regardless of weight - no - but yes makes no difference
Weight of options is 0

Manual shipping methods were nasty to set up but now updated by spreadsheet and use weight and warehouse to calculate shipping. I have a test server so I can upload and let you have a look at the problem. Updated the view a little so it does not display No Shipping Needed which helps a little.
