Discount Applied Conditionally to Product Category

I need to apply a discount or alternate price to any product from category X, but ONLY when product A is in the Cart.

I looked at the cart.php template in the category view, but this logic probably would need to be in the discount management, not the Shopping cart.

Is hiring a developer the only way to add this functionality?

This is not possible by default in HikaShop, it is a specific case so yes, it will require a third developer for this functionality.
I recommend to post in the commercial jobs section of this forum.
