Guest checkout isn't going to the payment gateway

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.4
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : All Browsers

When you purchase a product, then try to buy it as a guest, you get taken straight to the thank you page instead of going to the payment gateway.

When you use login or register it works fine, its just guest that doesn't work.

Do you have any ideas what the issue is?

Can you show me how did you configured your checkout workflow through the page "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout" and tell me which payment method your are using ?

We are using the 'SecureTrading Payment Pages' payment gateway. I've attached a screenshot of our checkout workflow.

Your issue is probably coming from the fact that you don't have any "Payment" action on your checkout workflow, you should add it on the first step of your checkout workflow and test it again.

I had this same issue. However, we removed the Payment element from the Checkout Workflow intentionally. It confused some customers to see a button for 'Credit Card' and not be able to click it. (It was already selected since it was the only payment method available.) Since we weren't giving them a choice of payment methods, we removed that step from the workflow. What I don't understand is why a Login or Registration user gets sent to the payment method and not a Guest user. Is there a reason that this is not consistent?

And does it work with the "payment" action on your checkout workflow ? If you remove the "payment" action and set the "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" option to YES or If only one method is available does it work for guest user ?

Probably because the payment choice was saved on your cache for when you log in.

Thanks for your reply. We already had this set up with "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" set to "If only one method is available" before we removed the payment action. It works for guest user when payment action is there but not when it is removed. That's why I thought it was odd that it works for registered users with the payment action removed but not guest users. Seems like the behavior should be consistent either way.
