I want to use hikashop to make a website like xhose.com
I wanna know where I should start to do this.
I'm thinking a module with product options and payment form should work.
Any ideas or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Or maybe create a custom checkout page, and making it the default.
Not sure where to start. But good at programming and quick learning how to code on new platforms.
Just need a lil push in the right direction.

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry but I am not sure to really understand your needs.
xhose.com seems to be working exactly as us.

To have variants for a product here is the documentation:
www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...html#characteristics

For the checkout:
www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...eckout-workflow.html

I don't see how to have set product + payment info, and shipping info on the same page.
In Hikashop you go to a page for a product then a page for checkout....
on xhose it is all one page.

I see what you mean. But they still have to look for product/add to cart.

How would I automatically make the product show up as selected on the checkout page?

Hi,

I still don't understand your problem since as far as I can see HikaShop works like that website.
Here are the steps:
1. Display a link to the product page: take.ms/ymrXV
2. Select the option and click on the add to cart button: take.ms/HGTsT
3. You arrive on the checkout: take.ms/dtUGH

It's the same on our demo website:
1. Display a link to the product page: take.ms/7kzkY
2. Select the option and click on the add to cart button: take.ms/Qckhe
3. You arrive on the checkout: take.ms/hZVm3
And Xavier gave you the relevant documentation links to setup characteristics and the checkout workflow in HikaShop.

See that is the problem. On that website you don't have to display a link to the product page, and you don't have to click "add to cart", and you don't go to a separate page for checkout! Everything is on one page. i.e. select product option > fill out payment info and done. without ever switching a single page

Hi,

So we don't looked at the correct place. Because on xhose.com when clicking on the "shop" menu it display products, we select any product and arrive on a product page, here we have to click on "add to cart" and it bring us to a new page, the checkout one.
Exactly as we do in HikaShop.

So please give us the exact link to the desired behavior.

Hi,

xhose.com redirect us to officialxhose.co.uk
And the display is: take.ms/UZcXZ so like HikaShop, that's why we don't understood.

So now regarding your needs, you can potentially set a menu for the Hikashop checkout menu option, set one step on your checkout like that: Payment - Login - Address - Shipping

Set the register type on Guest, and in the settings of the menu used for the checkout assign one or many product modules to have them displayed just before the checkout. Then some views will require some editions to submit the "add to cart" button on quantity change and hide this add to cart button.

In the main config you will too have to enable the option "Use AJAX for add to cart buttons when possible".

How would I go about making a quantity change automatically add to cart?

Hi,

After looking again at the way it is working on xhose.com, it will require more modifications in HikaShop.
In order to have the order now button to submit the cart and process the order in one step instead of two by default in HikaShop.

So good php knowledges will be required, else you can potentially have one button to validate the cart, and then one button to process the order. And this can be done in HikaShop without code edition.
