Changes to display>view apparently ineffective

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.5
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.11

I am making changes to the user registration file. However, no matter how radical the changes I make, nothing seems to make it to the frontend and everything keeps looking and working just the same.

Can you help me figure my way to making effective changes to the file?

Hi,

There could be two things that went "wrong":
1. What's your configuration for "Use bootstrap design"? Depending on this you'll need to edit either "user / registration" or "user / registration_bootstrap".
2. Double-check you are editing the view for the frontend template in use, not for another one.
