Get order number in checkout

Hi,

It is not possible to display it during the checkout because the value does not exist yet.
The order number is available after the order creation ; at it happens at the very end of the checkout (last step, for the view "checkout | after_end").

Yes, for the thank you page, you can display order details.
Like I wrote in my previous message, you can use the "checkout | after_end" view which is displayed after the order confirmation ; when using plugin like "paypal", this view is display when the user return back (except if you specify something in the "return url" of your plugin configuration).
