-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.5
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.33
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chrome 40.0.2214.93 m

After I click "Proceed to checkout," and the first time I reach the Payment section, all three payment choices (authorize.net, paypal, and purchase order) have white radio buttons (none are black). The authorize.net option displays its boxes to enter the card number, expiration date, and card validation code, even though its button is white like the other two. (Picture 1) When I click the authorize.net radio button to be sure it is selected, its button turns black, but the card entry areas go away; no amount of clicking that button again will bring them back. (Picture 2) To use authorize.net, I have to first click the Paypal radio button; this first which brings back the Authorize.net card entry areas briefly, but they then disappear and the paypal button turns black. (picture 3) Only after this is done one time can I click the authorize.net button, and it will both stay black and also present the card entry boxes. (Picture 4).

This behavior confuses me and customer who wishes to pay by credit card.

Hello,
Can you change the value of the "Auto submit shipping and payment methods selection" option through "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout" and test it again ?

Thanks for the quick response! I changed the "Auto select default shipping and payment methods" setting as follows:
Previous setting: "If only one method is available."
New setting: "Yes"

That did clear up the issue. Now when I get to the Payment Options page, Authorize.net has its card information entry boxes displayed AND it is marked black, indicating that it is the one currently selected. Also, Clicking the Paypal button works correctly; it's button turns black, and the authorize.net card entry boxes disappear.

This fixes my issue, although it still leaves the question what good is the "If only one method" setting when it makes things operate in such a confusing fashion.

I didn't totally understood your question, can you give me more details ?
Thanks :).
