I want custom page after clicking download link

Hello,

When I click on a download link, it brings me to a blank page. Depending on file type it downloads the file right away (.jpg) or I can choose to open it or save it (mp3). I would like to have a regular page (based on website template) and ideally I would like to add some text, like "Thanks for downloading etc.". Is that possible?

Would it be possible to have a little more details ?
When you click on a link which result to a download, your browser generally keep display the previous page, but it the link is open in a new window/tab, you will have a blank page because you do not have a previous page to display.

Regarding to the possibilities of HTTP and your request, I'm not sure that it will be possible like that.

Hello Jerome,

Thanks for your quick response. I will provide you with some more details.
After I get back from a successful payment (with Paypal Sandbox), I return to my Home page ( www.ma-collective.com/ ).
I go to my email and click on the link. It opens a new tab (no title) with url: www.ma-collective.com/index.php?option=c...der_id=34&Itemid=166 . Completely blank. I only see for one sevond that a download took place (little arrow). Maybe this is a browser setting. Suppose it would, is there another option to keep on the website somehow?

Does this give you some more useful info?

Hi,

Yes it's more related to your browser and it will be more than complicated to customize HikaShop to do what your want to perform. Because the link is a link to download the file, it does not display a page, it send the file content.
So it means that you should change the complete way that the download is working...
It could require to modify some core files or to create some custom plugins ; Due to the high level of customization, it will be beyond the support service we can provide.
