Change of name to button on first selection

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.4.0
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.28
-- PHP version -- : 5.4.37

At the checkout process, the user sees Credit Card payment option as default. No problem there.

But if the user wishes to pay via Cheque, they then have to select "check" option, then click "Finish" button which goes to the page where "check" is now the selected option. Then "Finish" again to complete the process.

How can I change the first "finish" button to read "next", as it is confusing a few users?

You can use a translation override in order to change that text, like for any text in HikaShop:
hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify
