Checkout without registering

Hi,
I have had problems with one of my webshops for quite a while now and the issue is at the checkout.
When a customer is to register at the checkout they are mostly stuck there, meaning no finalize button so they can't send the order. I have tried to get help for this but you say you don't have any issues with the shop.
Now more and more angry customers say the same thing, they simply can't checkout the order.
So there must be some error and I am totally stuck, no way I can solve this. I have compared this site with my other working shops and find no deifference.
So I wonder if it is possible to set up a checkout without any registering of customer?
In the backend it looks quite straight forward but it won't work.
Any help with this is highly appreciated.

They can't checkout maybe because they don't fill a mandatory field, or don't accept the terms an conditions.
Is your template displaying system messages ?

It is indeed possible to checkout as guest, in Configuration > Checkout > Login & Registration you can use the switcher mode with a registration option and the guest one. This way the customers can checkout without registering.
