-- url of the page with the problem -- : quollbooks.com.au/component/users/registration
-- HikaShop version -- : 4.1.0
-- Joomla version -- : 3.9.6
-- PHP version -- : 7.2.19
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Microsoft Edge 42.17134.1.0

I have a suggestion for a HikaShop improvement to the Registration page: provide an Autocomplete Address selector.

The current Registration Form includes multiple fields for the entry of an address:

This method is prone to user error, thereby leading to invalid addresses being recorded in the Customer data. For example, in the above form when the default Country is "Australia", the default State is "Australian Capital Territory". A user can easily overlook the need to select the correct state and leave the (wrong) default recorded.

It is increasingly common for websites to make use of Google Map's autocomplete address selector:

As the user starts typing, a list of valid addresses is shown below, from which the user can select the correct one. This is quick, user-friendly and minimises the likelihood of address errors.

In some cases, the Google Map autocomplete address selector fails to find the correct address. In that case, the user needs the option to enter the address in separate fields (as at present).

I believe this would be a most desirable enhancement.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. That's a good idea. We'll look at doing something for that.

Hi,

Please don't forget about ability to disable that option if added. Because some people could have they own autocomplete. As example we use autocomplete which get's populated by our local post service. We don't want to have conflicts like this....

Thank you

Hi,

Yes. We'll probably make it a plugin available on our marketplace. So you'll only have it if you install and enable the plugin.

Hi,

Please note that it has only been 1 month since we replied that we'll work on it.
In fact, you're in luck as we're currently working on it. We expect to be able to release it before the end of July.

Hi,

We got delayed a bit. The plugin is almost ready ( most of it is working and it needs some further testing and code cleaning ) and we're expecting to have it released at the end of August.

Hi,

The plugin has been purchased and used by many users since then and is working fine.
So you must be missing something, or there is a bug no one reported yet.
Could you provide a link to the shop and instructions to reproduce the issue so that we can check on the situation ?
