Is it possible to set something up like this:
- Product A costs £15
- Product B costs £5
If you buy Product A you can get Product B for £4
?

Hi,

Yes and no.
You can't directly do such discount.
However, you could create product C with the same name as product B and with a cost of £4 in an unpublished category and add it as an option of product A so that on the product details page of product A, the customer would be able to add product C as an option of product A when adding product A to the cart.
And if you have the "group options with product" setting activated, the customer won't be able to remove product A from the cart without removing product C too.
And if you want the stock of product B to be updated when product C is bought together with product A, you could add product B in the "bundled products" setting of product C.

Hi Nicolas, thanks, I will give that a try and see if that works in the way I want.

Hi,
how do you stop the bundled item from being search for and purchased on its own? As it is a cheaper add on we don't want it to show up as a cheaper option next to the original.

Thanks,
Ian and Stu

Hi,

You can create an unpublished category and move that product to this category. That way, it won't appear independently on your frontend.

Hi,
we've done that but it doesn't prevent the product from being searchable.

http://ccpharmacy.com.au

Search for 'safety glasses'. There will be 2 products. The original at $9.99 and one that ends in 'bundled' at $1.50.
Search for 'lab coat' to see the bundle option which is working correctly.

Do we need to give them exactly the same name the prevent this?

Regards,
Ian and Stu

Edit: I was able to go in to our Mijosearch and manually block the bundled item. With Offlajn (Universal Ajax search) it works as you specify without having to manually block the product. We use two different search solutions on different sites.

Hi,

I can't access your website:

Make sure that you don't have another category added to the product. As long as one category is published in the list of categories of a product, it will be searchable.
