Awaiting Payment Status

Hello,

Would it be possible to have you create an awaiting payment status. I want to be able to accept checks/money orders from customers and be able to set the status of those orders to "Awaiting Payment" and once payment comes in I can then change it to pending. I normally sort my orders by created then change them to pending and once they are shipped obviously shipped. If I have to leave all the offline payment orders as either created or pending this could create a huge area for mistakes to happen. I'm sure I am not the only one who has this issue.
