-- HikaShop version -- : 2.2.2
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.17

All,

The search feature works on my site, but I've run in to 1 issue. When I search out either "Hex" or "Hex Base" I get the product category...not the product. Please see the attached images. Image #1 is what I get when I search "Hex" or "Hex Base"...the link is the first one that comes up, Image #2 is of the page that link takes me to, Image #3 & #4 is of the page where the Hex Bases actually are.

How do I fix this? This caused a customer NOT to buy the items they wanted.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks to check the parameters for the plugin "HikaShop products search plugin", in the basic options check if you have things like "product_name","product_code" for "Fields".

And check if that plugin is enabled.

Hey Xavier!

Here's what listed, and the search plugin is enabled...

product_name,product_description,product_id,product_code,product_published,product_type,product_manufacturer_id,product_keywords

Hi,

That's because in the itemid option of your HikaShop products search plugin, you need to enter the id of a products listing menu item.

I'm feeling like a noob right now, what do I do to fix it? In the images, the products are being returned in the search, just not the product I want returned.

As I said, you need to enter the id of a products listing menu item in the "Itemid" option of your HikaShop products search plugin via the joomla plugins manager.

Ok, in the attached image "Search Options", I have the ItemID box circled, this is where to put what you're telling me to right?

As far as the menu item...is that the ID that is found on the far right of the attached "Product Category ID" image, or the "Product ID" image?

It's none of them. As I said, it's the id of a products listing menu item that you need. So like any menu item, you'll find them in the Joomla menu manager (menu Menus of your backend) and the id of the menu items will be on the right of the menu items listing.

Ah, ok, I think I follow you now...

So with my sites home page, the Main Menu at the top has the Shopping link, clicking on that takes you to listed Manufactures I deal in, then you click on them from there to see their products.

On the backend...the Shopping menu is located in the Main Menu section, so would I use the ID of the Shopping Menu item, or the Main Menu item? Shopping right?

I don't know. It depends on their type. Just use one with the type 'hikashop products/categories listing' and it will work.

Ok, that would be the shopping menu. I put that ID in, and it did nothing. Still coming back to the same pages as posted above. I also did a hard refresh on the screen & cleared my cache.

Any other ideas?

I just checked the search on your website and the products links work now.

Um, no, it's not.

Go to www.ariesgamesandminis.com , click shopping at the top, then scroll down, search for Hex or Hex Base...

In the search results window, there will be a listing for Hex Base, click it, it goes no where.

Where the hex bases are under shopping is the manufacture Iron Wind Metals, then scroll down to Hex Bases, then click the only hex base listing I have...

Is that not where the search function is supposed to lead?

It seems like this is the ONLY product that isn't coming back in the search for some reason. I've randomly searched for other products I carry, and they always come back correctly & the links for the search results takes me to the exact page it is supposed to take me.

Is there a possibility that something is wrong with the Hex Base listing?

Thanks

Hi,
The solution will probably be to go to your "HikaShop categories search plugin" configuration page and set the "Itemid" option to the ID of a Category listing which have an associated module which display products.

Guys, I appreciate the help, but I'm very new at this...and cannot always follow along with what you're saying.

Mohamed, I put the ItemID in the "Hikashop categories search plugin" in to the ID and it still did not work. With how I'm reading what you wrote, I'm guessing I did that wrong.

If you mean to put the category ID in to the ID field of the "Hikashop categories search plugin"...I have more than 1 category. Do I enter just one, or do I enter them all & separate with maybe a comma or semi-colon?

I'm sorry I just don't understand, this is still very new to me and I'm trying to learn as best as I can.

Thank you

As I said previously,

All the products results of your search work on your website now.

I tested them myself. So I'm not sure what you're talking about.
I see that if you search for categories, you get a result which doesn't work because you didn't enter only one category listing menu item id in the Itemid option of the HikaShop category search plugin but a whole bunch of them separated by commas. You can't do that. Please only put one menu item id, like you did with the HikaShop products search plugin

I apologize, when this issue was coming up, I got sidetracked by my son's birth and completely forgot about this until someone brought it back up.

Nicolas, the above issue was still present. Anytime I searched out "hex base" it would pull back the "category" not the "product". The term "hex base" is also listed in each listing on my site for certain products as the base does not come with that specific item...so that's why the image above shows a listing of "hex base" on each product.

Well, today I got adventurous in trying something. Both the Category and the Product were titled Hex Bases (with the product being titled Hex Bases (4) as that's how the manufacture listed it). Well, I changed the Category to "Bases" and removed the (4) from the product listing...and now the actual product Hex Bases shows up in the search rather than the Category.

Please consider this issue resolved...thank you!
