Can't get new "Add to cart pop-up notice" to work

-- Joomla version -- : 3.6.5

Hi,

we can't seem to get the "Add to cart pop-up notice" to work with the new add to cart system. Started out with a brand-new installation of Joomla and Hikashop 3.0.0 [1701301911], protostar template, added a few products, turned on the "Hikashop Add to Cart notification Plugin" and set:
Checkout legacy - No
Add to cart legacy - No

But no matter what we try, we're always immediately redirected to the checkout page when clicking the add to cart button. Maybe we're overlooking something obvious, with add to cart legacy set to Yes we can see the old option "After a product is added to the cart", but can we also configure what happens after adding a product to the cart with legacy set to No?

Hi,

The option "After a product is added to the cart" only works with the legacy checkout. With the new checkout system, it's the "Hikashop Add to Cart notification Plugin" which is in charge of displaying notifications on the page and if the plugin isn't displaying any notification (because it's disabled or has a bug), then there is a fallback mechanism which redirects the customer to the checkout.
Could you provide a screenshot of the settings of the plugin and a link to the shop so that we can look at the issue ?

Hi,

thanks, when we installed Hikashop on a live domain for you to check, the Add to cart pop-up notice worked perfectly fine there, though it's still not working on our localhost.
We realise it might be difficult to help us with that and it may be some issue with our localhost server, but we did manage to narrow the issue down after a lot of testing: when a product has Unlimited quantity the pop-up works fine, but as soon as we give it a limited quantity, the pop-up no longer works and we always go straight to checkout.

But again, this is only on our localhost not on our live server, although we took exactly the same steps:
- Fresh install Joomla 3.6.5
- Fresh install Hikashop 3.0.0
- Add product A and product B
- Set legacies to No in configuration, that's all, we don't do anything more than this

Can you think of any possible cause for the pop-up not to work when a product has limited quantity? Thanks again.

Hello !

You should probably enable and configure the "Hikashop Add to Cart notification Plugin" plugin which should be the one to handle the notification after a product is added to the cart.

Hi Mohamed,

thanks for the reply, but that's not the issue (the plugin is already activated by default when we install Hikashop, that's why we did not have to add that as a step). As we wrote, the notifications are working when a product has unlimited quantity, so they do work, but not when we enter a finite quantity for a product. If we click on the "Add to cart button" of a product with a limited quantity, we always go straight to checkout without ever seeing any pop-up notice, and we can't figure out why that is.

That's weird because I only had that issue before "configuring and saving" that plugin configuration but not after it. It's actually working fine on my end regardless of my product quantity.

Hi,

with the Hikashop version from two days ago it's still not working, but we downloaded and installed the latest build just now (1702022252), and the problem has suddenly gone, something appears to have been done to fix it. Everything working fine now, both with or without product quantity!

I installed a payment plugin which did not function properly and also caused redirection to check out page after add to cart button was clicked without displaying the notification. After uninstalling it, the notification appeared as expected. So if anyone faces this issue it is better to first test-unpublish such plugins and see if the problem is fixed.

Hi,

It was a manually written payment plugin for a local bank. It was not any of available hikashop payment plugins. I found another plugin for that bank written by someone else and works well with hikashop.
