Hi,

You can import multilingual products by adding translation columns in your CSV. As explained in the documentation, you simply append the language code with a pipe `|` to the field name.

For example, if your default language is English, and you want to import French translations, your CSV header could look like this:

product_code,product_name,product_name|fr-FR,product_description,product_description|fr-FR,product_published

And a sample product row:
SKU001,Blue T-Shirt,T-Shirt Bleu,"A comfortable blue shirt.","Un t-shirt bleu confortable.",1

Result in HikaShop:
* `product_name` → stored as the default language (EN)
* `product_name|fr-FR` → stored as the French translation
* Same logic for descriptions and any other translatable field.

You can repeat this for as many languages as you need:
product_name|es-ES
product_description|de-DE
...

Here is a more complete example:
product_code,product_name,product_name|fr-FR,product_description,product_description|fr-FR,product_category,price_value,price_currency,product_published
TSHIRT001,Blue T-Shirt,T-Shirt Bleu,"A comfortable blue t-shirt.","Un t-shirt bleu confortable.",clothes,19.90,EUR,1
TSHIRT002,Red T-Shirt,T-Shirt Rouge,"A comfortable red t-shirt.","Un t-shirt rouge confortable.",clothes,19.90,EUR,1
MUG001,White Mug,Mug Blanc,"Ceramic mug for hot drinks.","Mug en céramique pour boissons chaudes.",accessories,8.50,EUR,1
BAG001,Cotton Bag,Sac en Coton,"Reusable cotton shopping bag.","Sac de courses réutilisable en coton.",accessories,5.00,EUR,1
If you save that text in a file with the extension .csv you can then open it with Microsoft Excel or LibreOffice Calc or import it in HikaShop.

You can read more about the import here:

Hi,

The HikaShop built in translation system indeed relies on the Joomla translation override files.
Based on our tests, this works great as the PHP function to parse translation files is really optimized for it.
If you wish for the translations to be stored in the database, that's possible too with the use of the extension Falang. The translation system in HikaShop will automatically integrate with it if it is installed on the website and store the translations in the database of Falang. However, due to the way Falang works, it can noticeably slow down a website.
