How to include product variants in xmap?

Hi,

It is not possible in the plugin ; it has been design to list the products, not the variants.
If you really want to do that, you will have to modify the plugin but it's not something I will recommend you because the goal of xmap is to provide links. The links for the variants' product pages are the same than their main product.

This seems not right.
Here is an example from the demo:

These links do not come from the site map of our demo website:
demo.hikashop.com/index.php?option=com_x...=1&Itemid=99&lang=en
There, all the links of the "Mat" product have the id 19 which is the id of the product, not the id of the variants.

And as Jerome said, you should not add the links of the variants of the products in your xmap.
That would create duplicate content for search engines and reduce your ranking on search engines, the opposite of what you want.

Hi
When looking through the standard Joomla search module with the name of the product and variant, the results show the variants of products.
mat grey
mat red
so get links that I applied in my previous post.
I see that each variant also has the product_id and parent_id.


Every product and variant have own unique product_id.
Thus, it is impossible to obtain a duplicate of a product variant, provided that they have a different ID. When set the name of the variants other than the name of the main product, there is no duplication in sitemap.

How to change the plugin to be able to crawl all the products/variants by product_id?

I hope I managed to explain it sufficiently detailed and accurate.

P.S.
Links are not really included in your result sitemap, it is just because the plugin does not crawl product variants their product_id.

Yes, I know that the site map doesn't crawl for the product_id of the variants. And it's done on purpose.
And I know that if you use the Joomla search, you can get the links directly to the variants.
But you don't want to have these links in the site amp.
Again, if you do search engines will have a different URL for the same product page and will reduce your ranking.
So you don't want to do that.
I'm sorry to insist but I do not recommend that you try to do that, for your own good.
