Hi,
You're talking about this plugin right:
www.hikashop.com/marketplace/product/230-paypal-plus.html
Note that updates are not automatic for the plugins on our marketplace.
When you purchased the plugin, you got a download link which is valid for 4 years to get the latest version install package.
You can also find it if you open the order in the My account>My orders menu on our website.
If you're still within that time frame, download the latest version and install it on your website.
That way you'll have the latest version.
If you still have the issue after that, it means there is probably something that need to be changed in the plugin to support your version of PHP or Joomla.
So the developer of the plugin, TsukiDev, will have to look into it.
For that, he will need the real error message behind that generic 500 error.
Can you try again after activating the debug setting of the Joomla configuration ? Do you get more information on the page with the issue ?
If not, you'll have to look at the PHP error log file of your server for a fatal error message logged by PHP near the end of the log file.
If you don't know how to access that error log file, you can ask your hosting as it can vary from one hosting to another.
I'll then relay the issue to the developer so that he can look into it and provide a fix ASAP.
