Is it possible (using your HikaShop content module) to display products from different categories on a product page (not on every page on the online shop, just on specific product pages relating to one category?)

For example, on product pages where I sell computers, is it possible to display on the same page other related products which they can add to their cart / click on to visit that product page?

This would save the user having to go back to the main menu (or the start of the online shop) to add another product to their basket.

Hopefully you understand!
Thanks

Hi there,

I think you can simply display the related product in a module.
To do so, please take a look at our documentation: www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/i...ct-form.html#related
With this, you should be able to display on your product page a module including the related products.

Hi Eliot,

Thanks for the reply. I am actually wondering how I can get that module to appear just on product pages within one category.
At present, I only seem to be able to select a 'menu' option for where the module appears. So, if I select 'Online Shop' for where the module is to appear, it will appear on all pages of my Online Shop. However I only want this module to appear on the product pages on one particular category. Can you help?

Thanks again

Well, everything is described in the link i gave you ;)

How to display your related products below your products:

1. Create a new module of the type "HikaShop content module" via the joomla modules manager and leave it unpublished in the joomla options of the module.

2. In the HikaShop options of the module (there is a link to them on the right of the module's joomla options screen), make sure that the "Type of content" option is set to "product" and that the option "Content on product page" is set to "Related products".

3. In the configuration of HikaShop, click on the "Select" button of the "Modules under the product page" option. Set your related module to published and click on OK. Then, save the configuration.

I think, the last part is the one which interest you :)

Hi Eliot,

It seems that I can only have a content module displayed on a page which is available via a menu. Is that correct?

The problem is, my hikashop products are not in my Joomla menu (there are too many). Instead I just have a single link to Hikashop from my Joomla menu.

Do you understand the problem?

The menu option is not necessary to display the module if you follow the indications.
Try to left this option empty, it should work on your product pages even if it's not related to a menu.

Hi Eliot,

I have done what you suggested.
However the content module will not display if it is not linked to a Joomla menu item in the 'Joomla module options'. If the 'Module assignment' is set to 'No pages', then the hikashop content module will not appear. If however I set the Joomla 'Module assignment' to a menu item, then the module appears on that page.

The problem is, I do not have my individual product pages listed in the Joomla menu system. If there is a way to have a hikashop content module on a product page which is not linked via the Joomla menu system that would be excellent news!

Thanks again for your assistance.

Hi Eliot - i have solved the problem. Thank you for your perseverance with me on a Friday afternoon. Very much appreciated.
I am not sure what the problem was, but it had something to do with the options in the Hikashop module.

Thank you again and go have a nice weekend!

Hi Eliot,

Thank you for getting me this far.
Is there a way I can stop my hikashop content module from displaying on product pages within one category?
At present my hikashop content module is displaying on all product pages in all categories, but I would like to remove it from one category.

Let me know if that is possible!

Thanks again

You should take a look at the joomla module options.
To do so, go in Extensions>Modules, find you module and check the Menu Assignment options.
You may find what you want there :)

Thanks for the advice but that would not work as my hikashop categories are not listed in the Joomla menu.
Have a good weekend.

Hi,

You will need a third extension like advanced module manager which is integrated with HikaShop and allow more customizations about module display than Joomla.
