-- url of the page with the problem -- : inlandcomputerservices.com/index.php/online-shopping
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.2.1
-- Joomla version -- : 2.5.14 (with Gantry v4.1.15)
-- PHP version -- : x.x.x
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Google Chrome 28.0.1500.95 m
-- Error-message(debug-mod must be tuned on) -- : N/A

I'm using a HikaShop Content Module in a sidebar, in order to give a categories listing (i.e. a side menu). This works fine at the top level, however, upon navigating down to a sub-category or product, the content module disappears.

Ideally, I would like the full top-level category module to remain in place on all pages. Within Joomla, the module has been assigned to all pages, however, it still disappears when low-level category or product is viewed. In comparison, the Hikashop Cart Module does exactly what I want it to do - it stays in place on the side-bar at all times, it would be great to work out how to achieve the same with the content module.

All help and advice greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Can you tell me how did you configured your category listing content module (joomla + hikashop configuration) through some screenshots ? it will probably help me to understand why you are getting this kind issue.

Hi,
Thanks for replying.

Screenshots attached showing config of the module in -
* Joomla Module Manager
* Hikashop Content Modules
* Hikashop Content Menu

Hopefully this helps and you'll be able to identify the problem.

Kind regards

Ok, so I think that you'll just have to go to your module's joomla configuration page, and set the "Module Assignment" option to On all page.

Hi Mohamed,
Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, that is not the solution - the joomla module is already assigned to all pages (see attached screenshot), but the problem still exists. If you visit the site, click on Online Shopping menu and then any subcategory (or top level category with no subcategories), you will see the problem.

Similarly, if you click on a top-level category (for example, Consumables), you will see that the menu automatically changes to the next level and has no clickable links.

Any other suggestions ?

Hi,

It's maybe a template issue, do you have many templates used ?
If another template is used for the products listing, you have maybe a missing position is that template.

Hi,

No, just a single Cloudbase2 gantry template being used for the whole joomla site. No Hikashop templates used or added.

Any other suggestions ?

A thought comes to mind....

Is this problem occurring because the content module has some sort of hard-coded reference to the "left" template position ? Gantry templates do not have a "left" position, therefore, after accessing a product, maybe there is some code trying to put the module on the "left" and that doesn't exist.

Just a theory, but if potentially correct, how/where would I be able to change the "left" position to "sidebar-a" instead ?

Hi,

It's because you turned on the option "synchronize with currently displayed item when possible" of your module. Because of that, it always tried to display the sub categories of the current category. And since you don't have sub categories for your categories, there are no categories to display when you select one, and thus you don't see the module anymore.
Simply turn off the option and you will see the module all the time.
