There is a problem width social buttons:

-Products can have a lot of different urls depending on where the user click to watch them. It means that if I click to Like button in: www.ejemplo.com/shop/product/ejemplo01 there is no the same like in www.ejemplo.com/shop/serigraph/product/ejemplo01

It´s the same product but in diferent places but it would have the sum of all likes.

-Whats the solution?
- Can I force a product to be allways in the same url?

Hi,

You will have to fill the canonical url field in the product edition page, then this plugin will use this url and the like will be applied on the product, it will not be dependant on the menu used.

Here is the plugin:

You just have to install it via the joomla extensions installer.

Thanks for your reply,
I think it doesn´t work...

Even so, can I force products to be opened always in the same url, for example:

always in
www.shop.com/similar_things/product/item_01

and not
www.shop.com/product/item_01

Same like joomla articles: if I have a menu item width a category all items in this category will be opened in this menu item.

Hi,

Yes, you have to use the canonical url in the product page (backend) like Xavier said.

The canonical url doesn´t work. You can see here:

www.bizarriaesspumosa.com/shop

There are 2 eyes, both same product but one in a module an the other in the component, both opens in different urls

Hi,

Yes both have different url, but the in the canonical field, you have to put the url of one of them in both field.
By this way, for the SEO it's optimized, and it's working for the facebook plugin.

You can find on the web some explanations about canonical urls.

I´m very sorry, I understand now what is canonical url

So, I think social buttons are not taking this canonical url in your new plugin:
www.bizarriaesspumosa.com/shop/serigraphy/product/11-buho-molon
www.bizarriaesspumosa.com/shop/cat-shop/product/11-buho-molon

Even so, can I force a Product item always to the same url? In this ways I could have different modules for each product.

Hi,

There was another issue with the plugin. This version will allow the canonical URL to work properly.

Your idea of using the canonical URL as product URL is a good idea. We'll add that to the todo list for a future version.
