Help With Manage Variants

I set-up the products that have several sizes using the "manage variants" option. The products that only have one size I don't use the variant - I usually just put the size in the description but it does not look uniform. Please see attached pics.

So what I was wondering, what is the best way to do this.

I am thinking of adding variants to ALL products so that they look the same, but because the variants have "unlimited" amount as the default I would have to go through all of the sizes every time I add a product (I have 5 sizes, x-small to x-large) and change the quantity.

1) How can I change the default to 0 instead? I think that would make it easier since the sizes don't show if they are set to zero, and that way I can just add the amount ONLY to the sizes that is required for that particular product?

2) Or how can I just add the ONLY variant that I need. So if a product ONLY have one size I only add that one size - or does it not work that way?

With the latest version of HikaShop, there is an option to not generate variants automatically when you add a characteristic to a product. You will find it in the advanced options of the configuration.

So to clarify, this option makes it easier for you to manage how many variants you want to add to each product. Is there any further documentation on this? Just want to make sure I understand it fully before I start making changes

Another possibility is that instead of creating a new product, simply duplicate a product with the variant setup that you want with the "copy" button of the products listing. It should be even faster than creating/deleting the variants in your products since the copy of the product will already contain the variants setup like the original product.
