Characteristics in Hikashop 2.2.2

Could you please elaborate on the item listed in the changelog for Hikashop 2.2.2:

You can now disable the generation of variants when a characteristic is added to a product with a new option of the configuration

You'll now be able to create your product variant manually, so that it won't generate useless variants for your products, you'll just have to :
- Go to "Hikashop->System->Configuration->'Advanced settings'"
- Set the Generate variants automatically to NO

Then, you'll just have to manually create your variants by using the New button of your product variants listing through "Hikashop->Products->YourProduct->'ManageVariantsButton'".

there is a far easier process that should be introduced and that is to have a popup show when the variants button is clicked to choose which combinations of which variants you want to be created.

hikashop is not very good at handling larger shopping sites, this is one of the examples..

Managing the variants is possible since a while in HikaShop, when you click on "manage the variants", you just have to publish/unpublish the desired variants.

The popup you are talking about, can be a good idea.
