Thumbnails - Partial Mini to Full Size View

I would like to have the mini thumbnails in the product view display a square portion of the actual thumbnail image and then, upon hover or click, show the full thumbnail image in the div. See attached example, please. This will better facilitate my odd shaped artwork for the category.

What can be done is creating your images manually (or thanks to XNview for example), and then replace them via FTP in the folder "media/com_hikashop/upload/thumbnails_000x000" where "000" are the desired dimensions of the thumbnails.
