Thanks for the reply Mohamed but that wouldn't work as the "Best Sellers" module can show products from any category so no one menu option would work.
I've looked at the thread you've directed me to but there's nothing there that helps me. I understand the logic that breadcrumbs show the route the user takes to a product, so if you click on a product on the home page the breadcrumbs would show
home->product
or if I change the menu option in the module to "shop" I can get as far as
shop->product
but I think user expectation is that the breadcrumb would show the category hierarchy
->shop->category->sub-category->product
Here is an example from ebuyer where I've clicked on a product featured on the home page ...
and another from tesco, the route to the product was via their special offers page but when I clicked on the product itself the breadcrumbs changes to show the category heirachy
The big advantage to this from a shopping point of view is that if the user clicks on a featured product from the home page but it's not quite what they want they can use the breadcrumbs to step back up to the category and browse other products. The way breadcrumbs work in Hikashop at the moment makes this impossible.
I hope the Hikashop approach to this can be changed to match user expectations. I am forming a "love / hate" relationship with Hikashp. Most things I really love about it but there are odd things in the logic of how it's constructed that have me tearing my hair out and have cost me a lot of time, so I hope you can help on this one!
Many thanks,
Ian
