404 - Category not found

i created 7 products and assigned them to a category called for sale
the shop is set to brochure mode
i then create a menu link on main menu using hikashop > products listing and then assigned the category for sale and clicked save.

when i select the menu option in the front end i get
404 - Category not found

so i click home and get another error
404 - Article not found
