Missing Brand Category

For some reason when I open the Brand menu to add a manufacturer and I save a new manufacturer, when I open a product to add the manufacturer it is empty (none). Why?

Hi,

Are you sure you created a manufacturer and not a product category under the "manufacturer" category ?

I'm pretty sure. I think the manufacturer folder is lost at some point.
In the image you can see what happens when I click in "brand" menu item inside hikashop

Hi,

It seems that something is broken, thanks to try to rebuild the categories by clicking on the "Rebuild" button in the toolbar.

Hi,
Now that you have used the "rebuild" button, can you show me how your explorer looks like through some screenshots, and try to create another manufacturer ?
Also, can you directly download the last Hikashop version through our website, install it, and tell me if it works ?

The issue is indeed that you deleted the main manufacturer/brand category where all the manufacturers/brands should be in.
That's why the system is lost.
If the reinstallation didn't fix the issue, You should empty the tables hikashop_product_category and hikashop_category in the database via PHPMyAdmin and reinstall again.
That will remove all the categories and brands and put back the default ones properly.
Then you can recreate your categories and brands and use the mass actions system ( menu System>Mass actions ) to add them all back to categories/brands.
