Latest Products - Exclude Certain Cats?

Is there a way to exclude a certain category from showing in the latest products module?

I have a client that is loading all of her sold products to use one of the categories as a kind of catalog and it would be nice to exclude this from the list of new products.

Note that you'll be able to control the displaying of your products regarding there categories by using the "Associated category" and "Sub elements filter" option of your product listing content module configuration page .

I'm still not sure how I can just tell it to not use latest items from a single category using your suggestion.

By default it's not possible, you will have to do some custom code for that.
Or create a new category were you add all the new products and restrict the latest products module to this category.
