Custom Field - Product Image from link

Hello,
I'm looking for a solution to add a custom field in product display.
Curently I'm using "File" field to give user oportunity to upload a photo from his PC.


I would like to add another option. Field where user can paste link image on any website.
For example: i.imgur.com/j8rCw0r.png and then that link will be uploaded like in "File" custom field as custom image.
Something like this is available when I'm adding File on a product page.
Looks like this:

Will be happy if anyone tell me what to do.

Hi,

Since HikaShop 2.2.2, it is possible to implement new custom fields using plugins.
Thanks to it, you can create your own field, display what you want to display and store has you want the data in the database column.
So it is possible to you to create the new kind of custom field, using a plugin. This custom field will display a text field to let the customer paste his image url at the plugin will download and store it in the HikaShop secure folder.

It requires some PHP and development skills (and HikaShop 2.2.2 or newer) but it offers a real flexibility without having to "hack" the HikaShop core. So you can update HikaShop without loosing your new kind custom field.
