Give Product Listing Description a max number of characters.
I would like in product listing_image_description
to give the description a maximum number of characters, is it possible?
if not can it be implemented?

There is no option to restrict your description size, but you'll be able to do what you want by editing the code of the files of your "product" view of your front-end template through the page "Hikashop->Display->Views".
Can you give me more information about how you configured your product listing content menu/module and about what you want to do through some screenshots ?
