Characteristics Display

Ok so not sure if this is the exact place to post this. So sorry in advanced

So i have researched on how to get the characteristics for items to display in the cart, ex. Shirt 1 Large or Shirt 1 medium. And i found that it is located under the option "Append characteristics value to product name" in the config under the Display tab. Now my only problem now is that i can not for the life of me find that option.
