"Call For Price" Solution?

Hello,

I have searched the forum for a solution to my issue and can only find somewhat old posts that do not seem to help at all.

I would like to display the products on the front end but not have a price at all for them and have it say "Call For Price"

What is the best way to configure this?

The closest I could come was to set the product price to $0 and set the stock to 0, so it will display on the front end without an "Add to Cart" button. Yet this work around has issues because it still displays the product as being $0.00 and the displays "No Stock"?

I understand that I could do a language override for the "No Stock" but then what happens with all the other products that I set to a quantity and they run out? they would no longer display "No Stock"?

There has to be a simple solution to this? Please help!

Hi,

You should not do it like that.
Here is what you should do:
1. Keep the quantity to unlimited in these products, like it is by default.
2. Keep the price to 0 in these products, like it is by default.
3. Make sure that the "Display add to cart button for free products" option of the configuration is turned off so that you can't add to the cart free products like these.
4. Add a translation override ( hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify ) in order to change the "Free" text to "Call for Price" on these products page.
Then it should work exactly like you described in your post.

Hello Nicolas,

Thank you for your help, I did exactly as you instructed. I made the quantity unlimited and set the price to $0. I then went under the configuration and set the "Display 'add to cart' button for free products" to "No". I also performed the language override but nothing is displayed at all for the language override?

Also, the "Add To Cart" Button still shows up on the category listings pages and on the detailed product pages and I am able to add the product to the cart still?

Any thoughts?

Nevermind, I figured out the issue, I had the price set to 0.00.

I changed it to just 0 and it works perfectly!

Thank you for developing such a great product and your time!

Happy Easter!
