Badges image selection method

Right now when one wants to create a badge 'rule', the user has to manually upload the badge from the pc manually.
When a user wants to add an image to a product, the user is directed to the /images directory on the FTP host

I was wondering if there was a way to change this method to also use the FTP method or atleast give the user the option through a setting somewhere or something. Because i would upload all the badges a directory called /images/HikaBadges/...

because when i make changes to an image or or more than one i usually just reupload the entire affected image directory (in this case HikaBadges) and all images would be immediately updated without having to go through config > display > badges and manually reselect and upload the modified badge image.

Is this something that could be added in a future version?

I don't think that we want to add that by default. It will complexify the interface for everyone else.

If you reupload your images with FTP, it will overwrite the images in the upload folder. It should not be a problem for badges. They should just get the new version of the image.
Of course, their thumbnails need to be regenerated in order to see the new image for resized versions of the images, like for the products images and that can easily be done by just deleting completely the "thumbnails" folder in your images upload folder.

not saying by default, but perhaps an optional setting somewhere.

so the "browsed" images are stored in the /media/com_hikashop/upload folder? Guess i could work around that for now, but seems a bit silly to "store" images in /images when the other ones are stored in /media/com_hikashop/upload. That has to complicate the code as well. Seems more logical just to use it all in /images

If this change is a selectable option users (like me) would be able to chose which method to use :)

I'm not sure what I understand you mean. All the images that you upload for HikaShop are stored in /media/com_hikashop/upload and not in /images, so there is nothing to "choose which method" since there is only one method.
If you want to store the HikaShop images in the /images folder, then just change the "upload folder" option of the configuration to /images and copy the images in the old upload folder to the new one.
