As i understand it bootstrap optimizes layout on mobile devices. As such it should not change product display on desktop computers. Yet in my case it does

I have my global configurations set as follows

Module head standard options
Column Amount: 2
Artikel Amount: 20

non-boostrap layout: 2 columns are displayed on both desktop and my tablet (nexus 7 2013)
bootstrap layout: only 1 column is displayed with all 4 categories below each other on BOTH desktop AND tablet

as i understand it this should not happen and it should be as followed

non-boostrap: 2 colums 2 rows on both desktop and tablet
bootstrap: 2 columns 2 rows on desktop, 1 column 4 rows on tablet. Not 1 column 4 rows on both

Hi,

That happens because your template is not compatible with bootstrap.
As explained on our documentation on that option, you should only activate it if your template is compatible with bootstrap or the frontend won't display properly. Such glitch on the listings is typical of that.
One possiblity is to install such extension which can add bootstrap compatibility for when the template is not compatible with it:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/style-a...ign/templating/21856
But it doesn't work all the time...

Seems like it's mainly for twitter anyway, don't use that so i can leave that option disabled. I usually just start configuring the an installed component and only consult the documentation when i encounter issues. Must have overlooked that or unable to find it. Non-bootstrap it is then.

I have notified the people at artisteer, perhaps they can make their templates bootstrap compatible by default.
