Front Page Responsive Category Display.

Hi There,

Im new to hikashop and have been an advanced vmart designer for years now.

Im trying to get my front page to look like the attached, modifying the joomla template was easy to get this right, but im not sure how/if hikashop can even do this.

I need the page to display like the following:

Categories (display image and text name of category, responsive view, each clicks to the category with view of its particular products)

Under that, I want to display the each category header for each category, and under each header, display random products images and title, (1x rows of 4 prodcuts ) with a view more button underneath.

How can I do this, from waht i see, the carousel/category display module is poorly coded (no offence but it looks like something coded from 10 years ago) its not responsive, and it would be a massive job to redo this. In this day and age i would figure this would be top priority getting something like this fucntional?

I dont care if theere is a slder or anything liek that, i just want to display my products in responsive mode, diveded in to categories, can you possibly help how to do this with modules or otherwise? As at the moment, trying with modueles seems to force me to use the carousel and as mentioned its not responsive.

A simple point in the right direction on the best way to do this would be helpful im pretty good with template customisation (both css, and php) but im not familar with hika or how to do these things properly and I dont want to core hack (obviously template overrides is the key here).

To edit the layouts thanks to read this tutorial, most of things are explained:

To display the category name and products inside, in the options of the hikashop category listing menu, you can select "Grouped by category" for "Sub elements filter". Or you can use many modules displayed on the same page, less dynamic..

Yes, the carousel are on our TODO list, they need to be done again. We have many requests about this.

HikaShop is fully responsive (but the carousel) so displaying products in responsive mode is not a problem, thanks to check that the option "Use bootstrap" is enabled in Configuration > Display.

Awesome thanks for that. Ive managed to get most things working, im using the product display modules on my front page to get hte desired effect.

Is there any way to get these product display modules to display random products in the category instead of always the same 4 items?
