Add to Cart showing on page titles on google

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.2.2

I'm currently trying to improve the SEO on my site and notice on some pages I'm getting the following:

"About Cartronix - Add to cart
www.cartronix.co.uk/about
Cartronix offer a wide range of products and services from Speedometer repair to radio decoding service, Airbag crash data removal etc."

On some of these pages Hikashop not being used.

I didn't fully understood our issue so can you give us a link to the page where you are having that issue so that we can directly understand and test it ?

Hi Mohamed.

Please search the following in google: site:www.cartronix.co.uk About

You'll notice in google the about page has the title About Cartronix - Add to cart

There no Hikashop on this page.

If you also search the following in google: site:www.cartronix.co.uk add to cart

You'll notice a lot of hikashop pages show but again it has add to cart in the title which we haven't assigned anywhere.

I hope you can understand this is an important issue for us as it's affecting our SEO so I hope to hear back from you shortly.

Hi,

The problem comes from your add to cart buttons.
You're using the CSS add to cart buttons but for a strange reason, a "href" is added to the "<a>" element ; maybe something maid by your template or an external plugin.
Due to that href, Google think that the "add to cart" are links to your home page and it use the "title" of these links as the title of your home page.

Hi Jerome.

If you check on some of the pages which has the Add to Cart there isn't an add to cart on there. I've already been through my template (gantry) and the small amount of plugins we have and nothing else is causing this and the only thing left is Hikashop.

You can check the source of the about page and see there no add to cart anywhere.

I hope you can understand this is an important issue for us as it's affecting our SEO so I hope to hear back from you shortly.

Hi,

So change the button style from "CSS" into "Normal" in your HikaShop configuration.
But the "href" in the add to cart buttons is not added by HikaShop.

Thank you for the information I've swapped them now and just waiting for google to pick them up.

It still doesn't explain the issue with non Hikashop pages having Add to Cart in the title.

Not heard anything in 3 days and still having this problem.

Hi,

You should ask google to reindex your pages, otherwise, it might take several weeks:
support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en
Also, the problem is not really in HikaShop as Jerome said. The problem is that you don't have a title on all your pages so google tries to use what it can find and it found the "add to cart" text on the add to cart button links so it used that.
I would recommend to add titles on your pages. That would greatly help your SEO as well:

All our pages do have titles (please see: www.cartronix.co.uk/about ) We have done the reindex but seen nothing which has helped towards resolving this.

Hi,

I'm sorry but I don't know what else to say.
Google is the one using something else than the title of the page for the indexing of your website. So you should seek advice with the support of Google.
Maybe the pages have not been reindexed yet by Google and thus they didn't see the change yet ?
