Group products by … (a characteristic)?

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.6
-- PHP version -- : 5.3

This is actually a few pre-sales questions, tho I have used the product 4 years ago. Very impressive how it's grown and developed.

My client has 8000 products (i.e. parts) that belong in assorted tool kits (i.e. tools with parts)

How can I put products into a tool kit? Not a category … would I use a characteristic? or something else?

What feature of HikaShop would allow me to group various products to each other across various categories?

Then, ideally display a tool kit much like a single product, i.e. a tool plus a list of products that make up a kit.

Finally is it possible to add a tool kit to the Invoice Manager quoting feature?

Thx in advance!

Hi,

I think that what you are looking for is the options:
hikashop.com/support/support/documentati...ct-form.html#options

And potentially options with variants.
You can see a demo of a toolkit on our demo website: demo.hikashop.com

What do you mean by invoice manager quoting feature ?
Create an order via the backend and add a toolkit product ? If it is, the options can't be selected through this manager.

Close, but I think really just need a way to group products.

E.g. many times you will see a "Combination Product"
They sell you the book, the book on tap and a book light all for $xx.xx.
However in my case we want to group perhaps 12-20 products in such a way.

Does that exist for HIkaShop?

Re: the quote question. I was talking about the Invoice Manager, it has a quote option.

So, then I'm wanting to add the "Combination Product" to a quote.

Besides the options system, there is no other way to group products under another one.
So if you want something else, it would require custom development.

This seems odd to me. Clearly you can group products within a category, correct? -- so that's a grouping option.

Can I product be put in multiple categories?
If so this could be an alternate way to do it ...

True for most shopping carts the Combination product method is an add-on.
This would seem like a great addition for HikaShop.

Also, on Amazon, you see buy product A and B together for $xx and save $y.

Hi,

Yes, you can group products in a category, and you can have several categories for a product. If that's ok for you then great.
I just though that your question was about grouping products under one product and thus that method wouldn't be suitable.

If you want to have a discount like on amazon, it's possible I think with the extension AWOCoupon Pro with an auto loaded coupon with rules to load only if products A and B are in the cart but I would recommend that you contact them about that before in order to confirm.
