I have a few problems with Hikashop product and category display.
First of all i create a category,to add products inside, but it dosn't seem to appear at all. The only way it works is if i merge it with the only category that works (Minerals-Crystals). Any1 knows why this happens? The category i want to create is "Jewellery" and its here --> geo-world.org.uk/index.php/store (it exists but in order to create it its parent category is Minerals crystals).
The other problem i have is if you go on "Minerals Crystals" open it,and press one of the items in it,you will notice that all the items appear on each and every item. How to change that? geo-world.org.uk/index.php/store/product/2-dragon-s-egg (scroll down and you will see)

Hi,

1. I don't understand what you mean by "merging" categories together. And I don't see any problem.
I don't think that the parent category of the jewelry category is "minerals crystals" since otherwise you wouldn't be able to display both on the same listing.
So I'm not sure what is the problem.

2. The issue is that your menus/modules are not configured properly.
You currently have one category listing menu without any associated products listing module attached to it and a products listing module assigned to that menu item, instead of having simply a category listing menu with an associated products listing module.
The solution is to disable that products listing module via the Joomla modules manager and to edit your categories listing menu via the menu Display->Content menus of HikaShop. There, you should see a message to automatically create an associated products listing module if missing. Otherwise, it means that the options of the module are set to not display the products as it should and we would need a screenshot of that page to be able to tell you.

Hello and thank you for your reply!
1. If you hover of the item store on the website you will see that you get a category named "minerals". I tried to create a category called "jewellery" so that when you hover "store" you will get two things : Minerals and jewellery. I did create this second category standalone, but it didn't work for some reason,so i had to create a subcategory under "Minerals" and name it jewellery. The categories both display nicely, but i don't get this effect when you hover Store,to get those two categories. Here is a screenshot with red mark you can see that i have a category called Jewellery that doesn't work, even if i have a item inside it it doesnt show. Instead i created the subcategory jewellery (Green arrow) under Minerals-Crystalls (Unwanted). Why i can't create a new category like minerals-crystals?

2. Sorry but i do not understand what i need to do. There is only one module assosiated with Hikashop,on my module manager and if i disable it,all products dissapear. Same goes for Display->Content menus. Τhere i get two items : Store, and Minerals-Crystals. If i disable one of those i lose important things. Please let me know what kind of screenshot you need and i can provide you.

Hi,

1. When you edit your categories listing menus/modules via the menu Display>Content menus/modules, you'll see that you have a "associated category" option where you can select a category. The listing will then display the elements under that category.
So I guess that you selected the main mineral crystals category in that option of your categories listing menu and thus the system displays the minerals crystals and the jewellery categories inside it. And it's normal that it doesn't display the main jewellery category as it is outside the category that you selected in that option.
You should have left the system as it is by default: a main "product category" that is selected in the "associated category" option of the listing, and your categories below it so that they display in the listing.

2. Yes, you need to disable the module in the Joomla modules manager. It's normal that the products disappear after that.
Then, when you go in Display>Content menus, you need to edit your menu (not disable it !) and click on the "select" button of the "associated modules" option there and enable the module in that option (that's how it is by default...). That way, you'll get the products to display again, but this time, only for the listing, not under the product page.

I think i fixed the problem and i don't get anwanted products under my product. But still i don't get the hover effect. Hikashop is very complicated,i disabled something and everything get messed ! Maybe its my lack of experience with it .
Anyway can you please tell me again step by step, what i need to do in order to add the hover effect? Also another thing is,on my joobla dashboard i used to get sales from hikashop (as soon as i log in to the backend of my website i got immidiately Hikashop) but now i don't get that. How can i enable it again?

Hi,

I don't know which "hover effect" you're talking about.
If you're talking about a zoom effect like the ones here www.magictoolbox.com/hikashop/ they never existed by default on the product page of products in HikaShop. They are added with third party extensions like the ones of that link.

The dashboard of HikaShop has never displayed automatically when you log on your backend. It must be a customization someone did on your backend (like for the hover effect I suppose?), or a feature of a custom backend template you were using.
