SUPER urgent problem on products desplay

Hi guys,

I've got a site which needs to go live TODAY and suddenly the products stooped showing on the products listing. I've had this issue before which was solved by changing the menu item pointing to them to something else, lets say external url, saving and then changing it back to products listing and setting the right category in the menu display. This process is long and frustrating. It held for a while and now after I've updated several products to my Hikeshop catalog the products are not displaying AGAIN.
I've tried the trick that worked for me before but now it's not working any more so even if I wonted to go through all the hard work it would be for nothing.

If I go directly to the product it shows the products categories but if I click on the category in the menu or in the breadcrumbs it shows only the category description and no products.

Tried to go under Display -> Content menus and set the categories back again. They all look o.k. with the right category assigned to each item. When I delete the "Associated category" it gives me the layout of the root category but again the drill down is not working. If I set "Associated category" to one of my sub categories back again I get a blank page or just the category description if it was added.

Please help me solve this issue ASAP because as I've mentioned before, the site must go live today.

I've had a message at the top saying:
Message

You just saved a category listing menu without setting an associated module for it.
If you want to display a product listing below the category listing, you need to add an associated product listing module.
You can do so automatically by clicking here
